Same as AOW3 where sometimes the AI surrender to fast, and sometimes completly refuse too do it. One fight, wipe 4 stacks plus big colonie and AI surrender with 5 colonies left. If you attack them and with owerwhelming streng (so 7 stacks, main with 5.3k, the other with 2k+) it is going to happen very fast. Actually if they declare war on you it is less likely to happen. Kinda funny because i had been playing Stellaris myself, then had to double-check wether i'm on the Planetfall forum now. Originally posted by Promethian:Lawl Opps you are right. Originally posted by CrUsHeR:Well let's put it this way: From my own experience, they rather lose their last colony (and thus lose the game) rather than becoming a vassal of someone they hate. Getting them to accept vassalage seems extremely difficult and only works under certain circumstances. But even if you are significantly stronger, AND you don't have treaties that oppose their goals (like an NAP with an enemy of theirs), they might still refuse a regular alliance. If you are stronger than them, it can happen that they try to flatter you or even send gifts. If you are about equal strength, they might leave you alone but prefer at least sabotaging you with covert ops. You won't see a map playing out like in for example Stellaris, where half the players might already love you, and most others can be immediately swayed into treaties with gifts. At game start, probably half the AI players get a random "dislike" modifier against you and half of the other players, so hostilities are inevitable. The AI is programmed to win, primarily by war and on their own terms.
